Uniquely organised for lighting professionals by lighting professionals, all of whom are avid volunteers, Showlight has at its heart a programme of speakers whose concise presentations, or papers, never fail to offer invaluable insight into the industry we know and love. Since the first event in 1981, delegates have enjoyed hearing from those who are at the pinnacle of their profession as well as from some who are just starting out. With a full and varied social programme surrounding the event, Showlight is an essential date in the calendar for lighting professionals.

The location

Lying 2.5hrs south of Paris by train and ranked as a must-visit destination, Dijon is one of France’s most beautiful cities. It’s historic city centre – and surrounding vineyards – are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a fine arts museum, and many cultural and gastronomic delights waiting to be discovered. Situated at the centre of France’s Burgundy region, Dijon promises to be the perfect setting for this popular industry networking event.

The conference

The conference will take place in Le Parc des Expositions et Congrès de Dijon on the Boulevard de Champagne in Dijon where delegates can enjoy the varied programme of conference papers and workshops. Showlight takes pride in attracting a wide range of international speakers to deliver on a broad range of subjects.

Programme of events

Showlight kicks off on 19 May as we gather for a Welcome Reception from 18:00-20:00.

The next morning, on 20 May, the conference begins at Le Parc des Expositions et Congrès de Dijon and will continue through to 22 May when Showlight will come to an end at around 17:00, after which we will host an optional Farewell Reception.

Specific daily schedules for 20-22 May are still being finalised, but typically speaker sessions and workshops will run from 09:00-17:00/18:00 each day, with the exhibition stands open during breaks.

We advise that you keep your evenings free to enable you to attend the Company Dinners, hosted by our exhibitors, on 20 May, and for the grand Conference Dinner – in a very special location – on 21 May.

The exhibition

Between papers sessions, a small exhibition supports the conference programme from the Théâtre’s foyer. This offers superb opportunities to network and exchange ideas with other lighting professionals, and for manufacturers and lighting designers to talk directly in a relaxed, unpressured environment. Delegates have plenty of time to visit the stands during breaks, and exhibitors can enjoy the presentations as the exhibition closes during the papers sessions so all can attend.

The workshops

Due to popular demand, one afternoon at Showlight has been set aside as free time for delegates explore the host city under their own steam, or catch up on work. As a new addition for 2025, Showlight is introducing an exciting programme of workshops which will run on that afternoon, details of which will be released in the coming months.

The networking

Showlight is regarded as one of the best networking events in the business and networking is key to the enjoyment of all. Organisers build in plenty of time for visitors to discuss and exchange ideas during the welcome reception, in the exhibition area, at the company dinners and during the half-day workshop programme. And, of course, the Conference Dinner - one of Showlight’s signature events, the location of which is kept a closely guarded secret until the day – is another great opportunity to meet with old friends and initiate important new contacts.
